JPA&D, in conjunction with Ross Thornton Architect, were commissioned to design a guest pavilion located on a block of land neighbouring the client’s family home.
The new pavilion is sited to overlook the swimming pool and is surrounded by generous landscaped gardens, linked to the grounds of the family home by a set of sandstone stairs.
The external terrace of the pavilion, contained by a low level stone wall, provides a solid base to the architectural composition which is then countered by the cantilever of the bedroom, allowing the gardens to continue under the north end of the pavilion.
